Anyone interested in running against Chip Roy for the 21st Congressional seat in Texas has until December 9 of this year (2019) to file as a candidate. The Texas Primary Election, where each political party chooses a single candidate to advance to the General Election, will be held on March 3rd, 2020. The General Election, where we choose who will hold the office, will be held on November 3, 2020.

(In Texas, you can vote ahead of those dates as well! Generally, early voting begins the 17th day before Election Day and ends the 4th day before Election Day.)

So what options will TX-21 voters have as they seek a better alternative to Chip Roy? To date, the following candidates have filed, and begun submitting documentation of their campaign fundraising with the Federal Elections Commission:

Jennie Lou Leeder – Democrat
Michael Felts – Independent UPDATE: On August 24th, Mr. Felts informed Texas-21 Indivisible that he is withdrawing as a candidate in the House race.
Bruce Boville – Democrat
Wendy Davis – Democrat

You can track each candidate’s fundraising, and download searchable FEC reports showing where their donations come from, right here. Reports are filed quarterly. The next report, covering funds raised in July, August, and September, should become available early in October.

Mark your calendars for March 3, 2020!
